I found the best approach was to support and position the roof panels with brooms and then screw it accurately in position.
I also carpeted and screwed into position the central strip.

I initially wanted to secure the roof panels using the original rim clips, but this proved impossible because of the thickness of the carpet, so I resorted to screws.
